Service Structure: Clerks threaten province-wide protest
APCA would organise a protest demonstration in front of the civil secretariat on December 8 and December 10 in Lahore
LAHORE:
All Pakistan Clerks Association on Thursday gave the provincial government until December 4 to issue a notification regarding promotions. They said they would launch a province-wide protest if their demands were not accepted. A meeting in this regard was held at Children’s Library Complex. APCA president Muhammad Aslam Khan also attended the meeting. An APCA spokesman said Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had issued a directive on September 23, ordering the Finance Department to issue a notification regarding revamping of the service structure model for clerks but the notification had not been issued so far. He said it had been decided at the meeting that if the notification was not issued by December 4, the APCA would organise a protest demonstration in front of the civil secretariat on December 8 and December 10 in Lahore. “Clerks will also stage protest rallies in front of DCO’s offices in other districts,” he said. He said the protest would continue until the notification was issued.
