PESHAWAR:

The government has authorised investigations into two Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Public Health Engineering (PHE) department officials. This was decided at a meeting of the executive board on Thursday, stated a handout issued by the department. The meeting was held at the Civil Secretariat in the city. Presided over by Minister for Public Health Engineering Shah Farman, the meeting sanctioned investigations against XEN Shahid Mehmood and SDO Sameer Gandapur over corruption charges. It was decided that a monitoring cell will be established at the provincial level which will scrutinise records and performances of PHE officials, the handout added. It further stated superintendent engineers would keep tabs on the quality and pace of work of at least five to ten projects every month and will submit a report to the department if they come across irregularities of any kind.
