Dozens of protesters on Thursday voiced their concern over a delay in hiring for various positions in the education department. The protesters were outside DEO’s office in Charsadda where they demanded authorities address the issue of appointments on an urgent basis. Protesters accused department officials of taking bribes to issue appointment letters. They said letters were not issued despite securing top positions in the entrance exam held by the National Testing Service. People who had done well in the examination said the education department was negligent as nine months had passed and the authorities had failed to address their grievances. Charsadda district nazim Fahad Riaz Khan has asked the DEO to issue a notification within three days. However, the DEO has denied allegations of bribery.
