Minority Discrimination: 1,500 devotees leave for Nankana Sahib

The first train left at 3pm and the other at 4pm

LARKANA: As many as 1,500 members of the Sikh community left on two trains to travel to Nankana Sahib to participate in the 547th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanik. The first train left at 3pm and the other at 4pm. Ashok Kumar from Ratodero, Radha Kirshan from Naseerabad and Jeentendar Kumar told the media that last year the railways authorities had charged Rs2,000 from each passenger for the journey. But, this year the authorities arbitrarily increased the amount by 40 per cent and the passengers were charges Rs2,500 per ticket, they added. They also pointed out that, during Eid, the railways minister always announce that authorities should reduce the price to facilitate the passengers but they do not get such privileges.
