Condolence: Journalists issue 72-hour deadline to nab Rehman’s killers

Journalists from various media houses lashed out at law-enforcement agencies

In response to the killing of television journalist Hafeezur Rehman in Kohat on Sunday, the media community across the district issued a 72-hour ultimatum on Monday. They have asked the police to arrest the culprits or they would hold a series of countrywide protests. 


Announcing three-day mourning after the tragic incident, journalists from various media houses lashed out at law-enforcement agencies. Journalists expressed fear over the current security situation faced by the media and people in the district.


Meanwhile, a condolence reference was held on Monday for the slain reporter. Journalists offered prayers and paid tribute to the services rendered by him.


On the occasion, journalists also decided they will ensure financial assistance for the family and children of Rehman. Kohat DPO Sohaib Ashraf informed deceased family the police constituted a special team to investigate the case and the killers would be nabbed soon.
