Shoe-making: MoU signed for imparting training

ISLAMABAD: The European Union-funded Pakistan Leather Competitiveness Improvement Programme (PLCIP) on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) Punjab to improve the capacity of Tevta for imparting training in shoe-making to the footwear industry. For the implementation of the MoU, a PLCIP consortium will engage international and local consultants who will assist in the training of trainers for TEVTA faculty in the areas of shoe upper stitching, shoe lasting and assembling, leather goods design and technology, shoe and leather goods CAD/CAM technology, leather cutting as well as e-learning applications in the area of footwear.
