LAHORE:

Pakistan needs to fully utilise and benefit from its vast untapped mineral resources and strategic location, said Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Sheikh Muhammad Arshad in a speech given to a delegation of National Security Workshop.

Arshad said Pakistan is a resourceful country and has the ability to become a regional leader. He emphasised that the global state of affairs has brought in a lot of opportunities and that these ought not to be lost as had previously happened.

He said Pakistan is the fourth largest producer of cotton and milk, eight largest producer of wheat and 10th largest producer of rice while it has the 10th biggest human resource. Despite having these resources the country is still an economically challenged country.

LCCI Senior Vice President Almas Hyder stressed on the need for developing a regional, product-specific and target-oriented marketing strategy.
