Defamation: Suit against Imran adjourned

Baidar filed a defamation suit worth Rs1 billion against Imran after he was accused of corruption

PESHAWAR: A district court on Saturday adjourned a defamation suit against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan till January 9, 2016. Imran was summoned to appear before a district and sessions court on December 21 in the suit filed by Qaumi Watan Party leader Bakht Baidar Khan after the latter was accused of corruption. Baidar’s lawyer Babar Yousafzai said a damages suit against the PTI chief was also in the Peshawar High Court, therefore the local court adjourned the case till January 9, 2016. Baidar filed a defamation suit worth Rs1 billion against Imran after he was accused of corruption which resulted in his removal as labour minister.
