This was mentioned during a presentation given by Medical Director Professor Dr Nadeem Khawar and Hospital Director Dr Farmanullah at a meeting of the board on Friday. According to a statement issued by the hospital management, the meeting was aimed at highlighting efforts taken by the KTH management to improve patient care, computerise patient data, enhance diagnostic services and develop the hospital pharmacy.
Participants were informed 15 phlebotomists have been appointed to strengthen laboratory services at the facility. “The new staff will collect blood from patients admitted in the various wards and deposit samples in the laboratory,” read the statement. “Reports will be delivered back to the relevant units to avoid any inconvenience for the patients.”
“However, they will soon be expanded to evening and night shifts in the near future,” stated the document. “In addition, institutional employees have been upgraded from BPS-1 to BPS-15 to grant them a pay scale at par with the government employees.”
The board also decided to promote Dr Zafar Afridi to BPS-19.
