From January 1, 2016, FIRs would be registered against all such persons on account of possessing fake and illegal arms, Nisar said while addressing a press conference at Punjab House in Islamabad on Friday.
Brushing aside rumours of rift between civil and military leadership, Nisar said, “There is complete understanding with military on all issues.”
“There is absolute stability and depth in civil military relations and the situation is completely normal,” he added.
Government ready to validate old arms licences
Regarding the ongoing National Action Plan against extremism and terrorism, the minister said he will soon hold a briefing on the implementation of the 20-point agenda, which was adopted following the attack on Army Public School in Peshawar last year.
Nisar informed media a European Union delegation will meet him on Monday to discuss the issues arising because of readmission agreement between Pakistan and the EU.
Pakistan had suspended an agreement on readmission of illegal immigrants with the EU because of contradictions and irregularities in its implementation, he elaborated.
