BCCI to convince Pakistan to tour India: source

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to convince the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to visit India for a short series in December even after the latter ruled out any possibility of following that option.
During his visit to the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) office later this week, BCCI president Shashank Manohar is reportedly going to discuss PCB chairman Shahryar Khan's refusal to visit India for the series.
"Manohar will be going to Dubai to take over as the chairman from Srinivasan. He might take up the issue there and try to convince Pakistan to tour India. Clarke, who is a senior figure in the ICC, will play the mediator," a source in BCCI said, according to DNA India.

The PCB chairman has made it clear that his team will not be visiting India to play a series which is supposed to be hosted by Pakistan in the UAE.
However, Indian media reports suggest that Shashank will try to convince Shahryar to visit India while the ICC’s Pakistan task force head Giles Clarke will be acting as mediator.
Shashank replaced N Srinivasan as the ICC chairman after the members of BCCI lifted their support from the latter in the annual general meeting on November 9.
Shahryar Khan wants to know India's reason to not play in UAE
Last week, the BCCI chief officially invited Pakistan for a bilateral series in December. However, Khan had declined the offer, saying they wanted to play at home, which is the UAE. But the BCCI is not keen on playing the series in the UAE.
Shahryar made it clear to the media that if India does not visit the UAE for the series, they will face monetary issues and they might have to cut down 50 percent or more budget to accommodate the losses.
