MIANWALI:

To end poverty, we have to invest more in education, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan said on Monday. He was addressing corner meetings in Mianwali district ahead of the local government elections. “We should learn from developed countries, who have invested more in human resources. Prosperity can be achieved by investing in health and education,” he said. Khan said that the Police Department needed to be depoliticised. “For the effective dispensation of justice, our police will have to work independently,” he said. Khan said that the powerful were exploiting the weak. “Due to the politicisation of the police, landlords are immune to punishment. The powerful can do anything because there is no one to hold them accountable,” he said.
