Support system: 120 women get Rs100,000 each under BISP

DERA GHAZI KHAN: A poverty survey to establish the eligibility of candidates for the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) was inaugurated on Monday evening in the district.

Over 120 women were given Rs100,000 each under the Waseela-e-Haq scheme.

Central in-charge of BISP Farzana Raja handed out a total of cheques worth of Rs12 million  under the Waseela-e- Haq scheme during a ceremony held for the inauguration of a poverty survey to register poor families in the area .

Addressing the gathering, Raja said that a door-to-door survey would be conducted and special cell phones would be used to register the candidates.

Raja said that the registration would be free-of-cost, adding that families would be provided vocational training as well as additional benefits.

During the ceremony, Abdulqadir Khosa and MPA Amjad Farooq Khosa  also announced their induction into the Pakistan Peoples Party.
