Zaman progresses to main round
Defeats Parker 3-2 in squash world championships qualifier

KARACHI:
Farhan Zaman joined compatriot Nasir Iqbal in the main round of the PSA Men’s World Championship 2015 as he defeated Britain’s George Parker in the final qualifying round at Bellevue, Washington DC on Saturday.
The 16th seed Peshawar-based athlete brought down Parker 3-2 to enter the main draw.
Zaman took the lead in the first game 11-8 but the Brit levelled the match with a 12-10 win in the second game. However, Zaman held on to his nerves to win the following game 11-8 before Parker drew parity once more with a 12-10 win. Zaman kept pushing till he won the deciding fifth game 11-6 to keep his head up in the tournament.
He will take on world number six Omar Mosaad of Egypt in his next match on November 16.
