Estate Highway: Exclusive use of route demanded

PESHAWAR: Industrialists demand use of the Industrial Estate Highway be banned for all but the former. Industrialists Association Hayatabad President Ghazanfar Bilour, also a former president of K-P Chamber of Commerce and Industry, demanded an immediate cessation of the use of highway by busses and vehicles for regular commute. According to Bilour, heavy traffic has an adverse effect on business operations in the area.  Scanners introduced by the government to inspect containers on Karkhano Market Road, leading to GT Road, has led to a diversion of all traffic onto the highway. This backs up trucks and vehicles for hours at a time. Vehicles travelling to and from Afghanistan also use this highway, which further hinders delivery of stock to factories.
