In a first of its kind facility, the government has launched a new system for delivering passports to citizens at their doorstep.

The new service involving delivery of passports at residences has been launched in collaboration with TCS courier service.

Under the new service called TCS Passport Express, the courier will receive passports from the passport office and deliver them to applicants on the address given at the time of registration, within a time frame quoted by the issuing authority. In order to ensure security and reliability, the postal company will only handover the passport to the applicant or a representative mentioned in the application.

However, for the first few months the service will only be available in seven districts with Islamabad and Rawalpindi being the first ones to avail home delivery of passports followed by Karachi, Lahore, Muzaffarabad, Peshawar and Quetta.

Inaugurating the service, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar informed the media that he will soon launch an SMS service to assist applicants trying to obtain an identity card or a passport.

Samin | 9 years ago | Reply Excellent work PMLn. I can definitely say that the current government is far better than that of Musharraf, Zardari and their own short period before. Nawaz Sharif is simultaneously working on all fronts and slowly we are beginning to notice improvement all over. Good job.
