KARACHI: An aggressive blowing attack by Mir Hamza and Yasim Mumtaz guided UBL to victory by an innings and 206 runs over Lahore Blues on day three of the third round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy on Wednesday.

Trailing by 396 runs, Lahore Blues resumed their first innings in Lahore on 36-7 and were able to add another 96 to the board. Made to follow on, Lahore Blues were unable to counter Hamza and Murtaza’s aggressive spells, who took four wickets each, and bundled out for 130 runs in the second innings to hand UBL an emphatic win.

In the other match in Sialkot, unbeaten knocks by Zain Abbas and Imamul Haq guided KRL to a 10-wicket win over Fata as the duo scored 79 and 75 runs respectively to chase down a target of 161 runs in 37 overs.

Meanwhile in Karachi, Fawad Alam scored an unbeaten double-century to help NBP register 465-4 in their first innings against Karachi Whites, who had scored 227 in the first innings. Alam scored 224, while Umar Waheed (125) and Babar Rehman (103) chipped in with significant knocks before NBP declared on 465-4. At the end of play Karachi Whites were on 96-4, trailing by 142 runs.
