Bahawalpur Commissioner Saqib Zafar directed officials on Monday to assist farmers in receiving grants under the prime minister’s Kissan Package. He was visiting a funds distribution centre set up at a high school in Bahawalpur. The commissioner said the scheme must be executed in a transparent manner and complaints should be addressed timely. DCO Imran Sikandar Baloch said six centres had been established in accordance with the Kissan Package and more than Rs30 million had been distributed so far. At the centres, sitting arrangements and dispensaries had been set up for the visiting farmers. The commissioner visited the NADRA and bank counters established at the centres, and told the Revenue Department staff to ensure provision of funds to deserving farmers after completing their scrutiny.
