Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyan Khan said that the ball is in the court of Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI), and that chances are becoming lesser as the time goes on.

"We did our best, now it is in their hands. But as time runs out, obviously chances of the series being held are very slim," said Shaharyar Khan.

"We have made it clear we want to play the series as per the memorandum of understanding signed with the BCCI. The Indian Board last told us they were waiting for clearance from their government which was busy in the elections. Let us see what happens now.

“"We are expecting some response from the Indian Board today or tomorrow after their Annual General Body Meeting," PCB chairman said while talking to PTI.

In light of events: Chances of Pakistan-India series slim, says Shaharyar

PCB chairman said that there are people from both sides who want to see the series between two arch-rivals.

"I know there are alot of people even in India who want the series to happen, but we have done our part now, I would like the BCCI President Shashank Manohar to contact me himself," said Khan.

PCB chairman also went on to say that if Indian government does not give the permission for the series, he does not expect Pakistani government to give them the permission to participate in the World T20, which is going to organise in India next year.

"One thing is clear, if their government does not allow them to play the series, then I don't think our government would encourage us to go to India for any event."

Shaharyar Khan to refuse headquarter shift proposal

PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan said he will refuse the headquarter proposal from Pakistan’s senate devolution committee.

"This is not feasible at all," Khan told ESPNcricinfo.

"Shifting costs a lot of money and we don't want to pay for that, in fact, we don't have the money, neither do we have any office in Islamabad to shift to.

PCB chairman went on to say that PCB headquarter is not the only “state symbol” organization headquarter based outside federal capital, and that shifting is not practically possible.

"Hockey, football and almost every top sports federation is in Lahore and also national organisations like Pakistan International Airlines, National Bank of Pakistan, their headquarters are in Karachi, then why dislodge PCB?

“We will convey to them the ground realities.

“This [shifting] is not an easy thing to do. We had had a land in Islamabad given by Capital Development Authority (CDA), which was also cancelled."

Usman | 9 years ago | Reply Due to men like Misbah, Pakistan now sit No. 2 in the Test Rankings. Due to men like Shereyar Khan and Najam Sethi, PCB is grovelling in front of Indians for fat pay checks for their pockets. Utterly disgusting.
Usman | 9 years ago | Reply The BCCI has already made the call, as the over enthusiastic Indian gentlemen in the comments sections is observing. It's time for the PCB Chief to either the accept the call or step down and let someone competent take over.
