Senate chairman says West’s silence over the oppression of minorities in India is deplorable

Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani said on Sunday the country will retaliate strongly against Indian aggression towards Pakistan, Express News reported.

“India should not hold any misunderstanding as it will be responded to if it cast an evil eye on Pakistan,” Rabbani said while speaking to media in Sargodha.

West’s silence over the oppression of minorities in India is deplorable, he added.

Judicial system: Rabbani seeks lawyers’ support

The Senate chairman said the incumbent chief justice of Pakistan was right when he said other institutions intervene when democratic institutions don't produce the desired results.

“Therefore, we should all work in tandem to strengthen democracy in the country,” he said.

Meanwhile, addressing the Mufti Mehmood Seminar in Peshawar, the senate chairman said in the past dictators had disregarded the Constitution.

“All political parties need to work together for strengthening the federation,” he said.

Rabbani said he wanted to improve relations between all state institutions.
