Muhammad Anwar submitted that three months ago, he had purchased a used handset for Rs10,000 from Azmat Ali
LAHORE:
A consumer court has issued a notice to a cell-phone dealer in a Rs500,000 suit filed against him for selling a defective cell phone to the petitioner. Muhammad Anwar submitted that three months ago, he had purchased a used handset for Rs10,000 from Azmat Ali of Shahdara. He said Ali had assured him that he would be responsible for any fault in the device. He said that the cell phone had later stopped working properly. He said he had taken the phone to Ali who said he had repaired it. He said the handset had then again stopped working. He said Ali had refused to replace it or return his money. Anwar requested the court to direct the cell-phone dealer to pay him Rs500,000 in damages.
