ISLAMABAD:

The police on Friday booked six suspects for resisting police and vandalising police vans when authorities attempted to stop and inspect them.

Tipped off that smuggled fabrics were being transported illegally via a bus (535) from Peshawar, the police intercepted the vehicle near Sarai Kharbooza, in the limits of Tarnol Police Station. The driver, conductor and four other persons however, resisted the police and vandalised their official vehicles. In the FIR, the suspects were identified as Fawad (driver), Faryad (conductor), Abdul Rasheed, Abdullah, and Hukam Jan. Interestingly, the incident took place on October 30 but the FIR was lodged on November 6.
