KARACHI: A security guard of the National Institute of Child Health (NICH) was apprehended after he allegedly attempted to harass a woman inside the premises of the hospital. The incident occurred late Friday night. The incident came into notice when the woman, who arrived along with her husband and family for her child's treatment at the hospital from rural Sindh started shouting for help. The woman alleged that the security guard attempted to harass her inside the hospital's lift. Following her shouting, her family members and a large number of people gathered and caught the security guard, Shoaib, and also beat him up badly. The family also staged a protest and broke the walk-through gate and windows of the hospital. Police also reached the site and took the guard into custody. The police then shifted the guard to a police station for further investigations. A case has yet to be registered as the police said they were waiting for the complainant to register a case.
