A few days ago Mumbai Mirror reported that B-Town actor Neil Nitin Mukesh claimed to have been offered a role in the hit HBO series Game of Thrones (GoT). The report said Neil was offered the role by GoT's stunt director, Greg Powell
Bollywood actor offered role in Game of Thrones
However, turns out that the news was false. Entertainment Weekly's (EW) senior writer aka EW's resident Game of Thrones expert, James Hibberd tweeted that the Bollywood actor "has NOT been cast in Game of Thrones":
Neil Nutin Mukesh has NOT been cast in 'Game of Thrones,' HBO confirms this is yet another inaccurate report re: S6
— James Hibberd (@JamesHibberd) November 6, 2015
Greg was roped in to direct the action sequences in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (PRDP) and Neil had professed that the stunt director was so 'impressed' by the actor's technique and training in PRDP's sword-fighting sequences that he offered him a role in GoT.
Brace yourselves, Game of Thrones movie is coming!
Neil had also claimed that a member of the GoT production team would be making their way to India soon to take the conversation further.
Meanwhile, in an exclusive interview with PinkVilla, the actor said that the statement released by HBO isn't "official", and refrained from commenting further.
"As of now I am not allowed to comment on anything because my global agencies have refrained me from doing so. Unfortunately, speculation about me doing the show has just gone out of control," he said.
Looks like fans of the TV series can breathe a sigh of relief because there seems to be nothing concrete as of now. Earlier, when news of him being cast in GoT made headlines, people took to Twitter to express their utter disappointment:
Neil Nitin Mukesh in Game of Thrones... He'll play the third dead body from the left in Episode Five.

Didn't know GoT producers were facing such a cash crunch they hired 1 person to play 3 characters.
Neil Nitin Mukesh bagged a role in Game of Thrones. Because of prem ratan dhan payo. Words I never thought I ll use in the same sentence.
