Factory collapse: Bahria Town takes part in rescue operation

The real estate group sends 100-man team supported by more than 20 heavy machines

LAHORE: Following the collapse of a factory in Sunder Industrial Estate of Punjab’s provincial capital, Bahria Town chairman Malik Riaz Hussain immediately dispatched a team, comprising 100 men, to rescue the workers trapped inside the rubble.

The team, headed by Riaz Noveel, was supported by more than 20 modern heavy machines including excavators, cranes, dumpers and bulldozers which immediately started removing rubble from the site.

According to rescue team chief Riaz Noveel, the district administration, army and the government commended the constructive role of the Bahria Town and its passion to rescue the trapped people.

A press release issue after the incident said the real estate developer has always been on the forefront of all rescue and relief operations during natural calamities and human tragedies. It said Malik Riaz himself monitored Wednesday’s operation and kept taking updates till
late night.
