Hydropower: 56MW to be added by K-P projects
Three hydropower projects of 56.2 megawatt (MW) capacity and 20 micro power stations are ready for execution in Khyber-Pakthunkhwa (K-P), which would generate power by the end of the current fiscal year.
“We have requested the National Transmission and Dispatches Company (NTDC) to complete transmission lines so that power generated from these projects could be added to the national grid,” energy department officials said.
These projects were completed at an estimated cost of Rs15.912 billion. Similarly, work on 20 micro power stations was also under way and would be completed by next month, officials said, adding that feasibility study of 200 potential sites for more micro stations was complete. The official said 55 such stations would be constructed at flood-hit Chitral.
Tenders were floated and contractors hired for 11.8MW Karora Shangla project, 10.2MW Jabori Manshera project and 40.8 MW Koto Dir Lower project.
