PESHAWAR: The third International Hindko Conference will be held at Archives and Libraries Hall in the city from November 20 to November 22. This was said by Gandhara Hindko Academy (GHA) Chairman Syed Anwar Kazmi during a news conference at the organisation’s office on Tuesday. “The conference will be arranged by GHA,” he said. “It will provide a platform for eminent scholars from across the globe to come together and discuss Hindko’s cultural and literary traditions.” According to Kazmi, a poetry session will also be held during the conference. Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Ziauddin, the convener of the conference, said, “A series of painting and books exhibitions, documentaries, and music performances have been scheduled for the occasion.” Ziauddin added, “Efforts will also be made to promote other languages of the country.” The three-day event will be inaugurated by Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan and Chief Minister Pervez Khattak. GHA began its operations in April after the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government issued a notification in this regard. The K-P Higher Education department is the sponsoring agency for the academy while its affairs are run as per the PC-1 approved by the planning and development department.
