Local govt polls: Wattoo happy with PPP’s performance

LAHORE. “The Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) cannot be excluded from the political mainstream, PPP central Punjab president Manzoor Wattoo said on Monday. “Local government election results show that the party is capable of staging a comeback in the Punjab,” Wattoo said. “A large number of independent candidates have won in the province with the PPP’s support. Other parties had not figured out such seat arrangements.” “Our opponents had forecast a doomsday for us even in Sindh but the PPP’s stronghold has been further fortified,” he said. He congratulated the party’s winning candidates.
