ISLAMABAD:

Members of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Petroleum and Natural Resources staged a walkout to protest the behaviour of officials posted at gas utilities, claiming that their concerns over impending gas development schemes were not being addressed.

The committee protested against the absence of SNGPL Managing Director and staged a walkout from proceedings accompanied by other members.

Virk demanded SNGPL General Manager Ijaz Chaudhary’s immediate transfer since he had turned a deaf-ear to the requests of parliamentarians. The members lamented that the SSGC and SNGPL officials were not paying any heed towards the gas supply schemes of parliamentarians for which funds were already transferred.
