Road crash: Six killed as bus overturns in Lahore

Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif has expressed deep sense of grief and sorrow over loss of human lives in the accident

LAHORE:

At least six passengers were killed while 20 others sustained injuries in a road accident at Kala Khatai Road of Shahdara on Saturday.

According to Rescue 1122 sources, a Narowal-bound bus from Lahore was on its way when it overturned due to excess speeding. As a result 27 passengers received serious injuries. On receiving information, Rescue 1122 reached the spot and shifted the injured to a local hospital where six people succumbed to their injuries while the condition of other injured was stated to be critical. Further investigation was underway, officials said. Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed deep sense of grief and sorrow over loss of human lives in the accident.
