The National Humanitarian Network (NHN), being a representative of national and local civil society, has been engaged in responding to humanitarian crisis caused by the earthquake on October 26, said a press release issued here on Wednesday.
It said that from the first day, NHN has been in close coordination with disaster management authorities and relief organisations to get first-hand information of the ground situation to help coordinate and carry out relief work efficiently and promptly.
“The NHN has pooled resources and mobilised over 300 trained volunteers and 78 vehicles from member organisations in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa,” it said. “The immediate needs of the affected communities are shelter, clean water, food, bedding and warm clothes,” the statement concluded.
