According to the document, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak chaired a meeting at the CM’s Secretariat and assured the provision of funds and facilities. These include sports grounds, rooms, and laboratories as well as secure boundary walls.
“Out of 402 GHSSs, rehabilitation of 202 schools will be completed by February 2017 under the Hamqadam School Construction Rehabilitation Programme while another 200 schools will be standardised by March 2017,” stated the handout.
The handout quoted Minister for Education Atif Khan as saying, “A total of 123 boys and 79 girls GHSSs were selected from nine districts of the province – Mardan, Lower Dir, Peshawar, Charsadda, Haripur, Nowshera, Kohat, Abbottabad and Chitral—that are in a dilapidated condition.”
Khattak reiterated his commitment to bring government schools at par with international standards.
