KARACHI:

A district and sessions court directed on Thursday the police to consider the application of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Imran Ismail for registering a criminal intimidation case against Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz’s (PML-N) Daniyal Aziz. The additional district and sessions judge, Abdul Qudoos Memon, asked the Darakhshan police station SHO to convert Ismail’s application into an FIR. Ismail had moved at the court against the PML-N lawmaker for allegedly threatening him during a television talk show. He submitted an application to the court under Section 22-A of the Code of Criminal Procedure, seeking the orders for registering a case against Aziz. He argued that the Darakhshan SHO had refused to entertain his application. The court after listening to both the sides asked the police officer to consider the application for registering an FIR.
