The police, on Saturday, were handed over the possession of eight plots for building a police station complex and seven check points in the area.
The residential sector was without a significant police presence to provide security to the inhabitants for the past few years, despite a noteworthy increase in the population.
In a ceremony organised by the Residents’ Welfare Society of Sector G-13, the Director General Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) Talat Rasheed Mian, handed over the possession letters of the plots for the check posts and police station complex to DIG (Headquarters) Islamabad.
He also assured to provide the basic amenities of life in the sector with the patronage of the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
“A boundary wall and gates will also be erected in the sector,” said the president of the welfare society.
Director General FGEHF said that funds had already been given to CDA for building link roads and conducting maintenance work in the sector. He added that plots were reserved in G-13 Markaz for the police station complex and also for police posts, barracks and pickets in the sub-sectors.
