ISLAMABAD:

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) lawmakers submitted on Monday an adjournment motion in the National Assembly to discuss Indian aggression on the Sialkot working boundary. The move comes a day after the PPP asked the government to take parliament into confidence over its India policy.

PPP MNAs Shazia Mari, Ayaz Soomro, Beelum Husnain, Ghulam Mustafa Shah and Aijaz Jakhrani submitted the motion at the assembly’s secretariat under the Rule 110 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly, 2007.

PPP lawmakers requested the speaker to allow the opposition to discuss the matter of continuous breach of Pak-India ceasefire agreement on the working boundary in Shakargarh sector by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF).

“The cross-border shelling and firing from Indian forces has resulted in many fatalities as well as injuries of many Pakistanis over a period of few days. This act of cowardliness and continuous offensive attitude of Indian security forces is escalating the tension between the two neighbouring countries and a complete disregard towards the on-going efforts of Pakistan to bring a peaceful solution to regional problems,” the motion read.

India should refrain itself from testing Pakistan’s patience and not to take Pakistan’s desire for peace as our weakness, they said.

This is a serious issue and requires immediate discussion on the floor of the house, the PPP MNAs added.

Kashmir Black Day

PPP expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri people across the world to mark October 27 as Black Day. On this day in 1947, Indian forces marched into Jammu and Kashmir.

PPP leader and former president Asif Ali Zardari urged the UN, which celebrated its 70th anniversary only three days ago, to help resolve this oldest dispute on its agenda since 1947. “While we commend the UN for bringing freedom to millions and dismantling apartheid and colonialism across countries and continents during the past seventy years we are also baffled at the inability of the world body to resolve this (Kashmir) issue,” he said.

Ajay | 9 years ago | Reply Please get over your obsession to grab Kashmir and focus on the progress of your people, else you will start losing what you have. And progress is possible only if you have peace and economic cooperation with your immediate neighbour and a world economic power in the making. Don't lose the bus again and again.
