24-year-old raped by six men in Faisalabad

The victim was raped and thrown in a deserted place, her uncle said

FAISALABAD: Six people kidnapped and raped a woman in Jaranwala, police said on Monday.

Ibrahim*, her uncle, told the media the 24-year-old had been alone at her home in Aftab Town, Chak 238 GB, when Adil* and five other men entered the house and took her away.

“They put her in a van and drove her away. They raped her and fled after throwing her at a deserted place,” Ibrahim said.

The Jaranwala City station house officer said police had registered a case on the complaint of her mother. “A team has also been formed to trace the suspects,” the officer said. He said police had asked her family to get her medically examined.

Last week, a girl was allegedly raped near Chak Jhumra police station. Anwar Rafiq told to police that his niece was going to the market when she was offered a ride by a youth of the neighbourhood.

“When she declined the offer, the boy abducted her and took her to a house where he raped her,” Rafiq said. Police said the victim had been asked to submit a medical report.

He said a team had been formed to find and arrest the suspect. They said a case had been registered and raids were being conducted to apprehend the suspect.
