KARACHI: The rumour mill has been high on grist that Kareena Kapoor Khan is soon to appear in our very own Shoaib Mansoor’s next film. On the differing news making the rounds, Shoaib told The Express Tribune he’d like to remain mum for now.

“I wouldn’t like to comment or elaborate on these rumours for now,” said the director of Bol fame, clarifying that he has “not spoken to any publication” regarding the status of and casting for his upcoming movie. But a close friend of the Khuda Kay Liye helmsman confirmed the news about him having approached Kareena for the stint. “As far as I know, he has only pitched the movie to her so far,” said the source.

Conjecture brewed after Kareena expressed her admiration for Shoaib’s works, which was followed by news that the filmmaker has approached the Bollywood star for an upcoming project. Numerous Indian publications have reported conflicting statements, even stating that Kareena met Shoaib in Dubai for a formal script narration.

Kareena to star in Shoaib Mansoor’s next

“Although Kareena has verbally accepted the offer, she wants to hear the script. After that, she will sign the deal,” DNA India quoted a source as saying. “For a while now, she has been keeping an eye out for projects that will allow her to push the envelope and [she] believes that Shoaib’s story is one of them.”

According to the Times of India, Bebo is yet to sign the Pakistani film. Be that as it may, if the said deal materialises, this will be the first time a Bollywood A-lister would be seen in a local film. Previously, veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah had played a special role in Shoaib’s 2007 film Khuda Kay Liye.

    Why do we need Kareena. We have more talented and beautiful actresses than her. Recommend

    It would be great to see Kareena in a movie directed by Shoaib Mansoor, she is an excellent actress and perhaps Pakistan can provide her with a role that would be worth her salt considering all the recent Bollywood flicks have been high on commercialism and low on content.

    On the flip side, having Kangana Ranaut would be even better (of course Shoaib being the director pitched it to Kareena for a reason).Recommend

    Probably Saif’s Phantom has done enough damage to their fame. I guess she want to be in a lollywood film to clear that smoke which was created by saif’s movie.Recommend

    @Abcd:
    She’ll be paid the market rate prevalent in Pakistani and she should consider herself lucky if she gets even half of what you listed.She can choose not to work if Pakistan cannot “afford” her wages.It was herself who showed the desire to work with Shoman,not the other way around.Its good to come off from that pedestal that you have conveniently placed yourself on,once in a while.Recommend

    I wish you didnt come up with this crap logic. Which real world? the one which actually crafts a sculpture before any beauty pageant by doing all those aesthetic procedures?

    Both countries have beautiful people but don’t fool yourself and people like yourself with this beauty superiority, which suits to an Indian and yeh, world knows it :pRecommend

    Mansoor approached her with the script and pitched it to her. Clearly, it was he was made the first move. In bollywood, actors are approached with so many scripts they don’t even bother talking about it until the agreement is signed. And Kareena, who has worked with the likes of Raju Hirani, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Vishal Bhardwaj isn’t going to reduce her fee just to work with Mansoor.Recommend

    @Ahmed Shafique:
    So films like Piku, Mary Kom, Queen, Dum Laga ke Haisha, Tanu weds manu, Kahani, Highway are not high in content that actresses would have to go to lollywood, which can barely manage to churn out a dozen films a year, one or two of whom manage to make a profit? Recommend

    “aesthetic procedures” grapes are sour when you aren’t as beautiful. So malign them. No reason to hide behind imaginative conspiracy to balm your bruised ego, truth hurts we know.
    One must First compete and win in world beauty pagents to claim world beauty. Mere chest beating we are best won’t work.
    India has second most beauty tittles after VENEZUELA -miss world, miss World + miss universe combined, while your record is zero. Grow confidence to compete first.
    Indians have also topped world’s most beautiful woman list -Aishwarya beating hollywood actress on list. All 9 world beauties/most beautiful woman, actress feature together in loreal advertisement, “a” chinese, French, american, etc…not 1 but “3” indians in it. didn’t see your countrymen. It’s time for frog to come out of well and see reality. Recommend
