ISLAMABAD:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa’s (K-P) agriculture and livestock ministry has asked concerned authorities to submit a proposal, after consultation with relevant stakeholders, to provide a plug-in facility of refrigerated containers, in a bid to facilitate perishable exports through sea shipments.

The step has been taken in response to a letter written by the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).

FPCCI Standing Committee on Horticulture and Agriculture Produce wrote a letter to the K-P government, looking to establish the plug-in facility in at least four cities of the province.

Chairman of the FPCCI Standing Committee, Ahmad Jawad, said the letter has been sent to K-P additional chief secretary and K-P agriculture secretary for the required assistance.
