KARACHI: Teenagers Muhammad Azeem and Muhammad Uzair will be participating in the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) Asia Performance clinic scheduled to begin on October 24 in Malaysia ahead of the 2015 World Youth Championship in December.

The Pakistan Sailing Federation (PSF) is sending Azeem (U16) Uzair (U18) to the training programme in Langkawi along with coach Commander Muhammad Akram Tariq.

According to the coach, the training sessions starting this week will be a good source of preparation for the world event which is set to be held at the same venue.

“We are taking two U19 boys and this will be their chance to improve themselves before the ISAF Championship,” Tariq told The Express Tribune. “We also wanted to send a girl but no one was available at the moment. So far we have high hopes; this week-long programme will give the teenagers a good amount of exposure as there will be some races once the training aspect of the clinic concludes.”

Tariq added that training for the Pakistani sailors was being sponsored by the ISAF.
