A three-foot-tall dwarf, barely taller than his machine gun, is reportedly enlisted with an al Qaeda faction and is ready to join the ongoing war in Syria.

Nicknamed 'Abu Ahmad al Chihuahua', the militant measures a mere three feet and is just about taller than his machine gun and is said to be a member of Jabhat al-Nusra which is fighting the Assad regime and the Islamic State (IS).

Pictures surfaced on the internet showing the 'mini militant' posing confidently in a camouflage outfit, sporting an ammunition belt around him and his Kalashnikov by his side.

Leith Abou Fadel, editor-in-Chief of an English Arabic news website posted two pictures on Twitter, referring to the militant as, 'Abu Ahmad al Chihuahua'.

In a second picture, the mini militant is seen posing in sunglasses with his weapon in his hand. Speaking to MailOnline, Fadel said "A friend shared his picture and I picked up on it."

"I tried to find out more about him, but the information was limited. All we know is that he is a member of the Syrian al Qaeda group Jabhat al-Nusra," he said.
