KARACHI:

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has accused the Sindh government of being engaged in pre-poll rigging and said that it will go to court against it.

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)-led Sindh government never wanted to hold local bodies' election, claimed Rabita Committee member Kanwar Naveed Jamil during a press conference at Khursheed Begum Secretariat on Tuesday.

"Despite the election schedule being announced, transfers and postings in various departments are being carried out by the Sindh government," said Jami. "This is a clear example of rigging before the elections."

The party appealed to the prime minister and the election commission to take notice of these illegal transfers and postings, and stop them. "We will go to court against this," threatened Jamil.

Jamil said that by carrying out delimitations according to its own wishes, the PPP is trying to steal Karachi's mandate.
