‘Awaz-E-Ilm’: FM 90.6 launches Quran transmission

New transmission will broadcast four hours of recitation and programmes on understanding of the Holy Quran

The Quran transmission of FM 90.6, ‘Awaz-e-Ilm’, of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI)’s Dawah Academy was inaugurated by the university president Dr Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh on Monday.

Earlier, Awaz-e-Ilm was broadcasting a three to four hour transmission containing programmes on Islamic teachings. The new transmission will broadcast four hours of recitation and programmes on understanding of the Holy Quran.

The inaugural ceremony held at Faisal Mosque campus of the university on Monday was attended by Dawah Academy Director Dr Sohail Hassan, deans and directors of the university, various scholars and ulemas.

Dr Al-Draiweesh said the Holy Quran is a great book of all times which has set guidelines, rules and orders for mankind. He said IIUI was established on the eve of the new Islamic year and following the core objectives, the transmission is also being launched with the beginning of the Islamic year.

Hassan vowed to extend radio transmission to disseminate the message of Islam to the maximum level.
