ISLAMABAD:

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to outsource balloting of residential plots, usually given to residents displaced due development, to NADRA. Plots for general public in future residential schemes of CDA will also be given in the same manner. This was decided in a meeting held at CDA Headquarters and attended by high-ups from NADRA as well. “Interior minister wants CDA to take assistance from NADRA to ensure transparency in its daily affairs,” a senior authority officer said. Currently, CDA uses balloting software manufactured by its IT department for new schemes while plot numbers are allocated to affected residents manually. The last computerised balloting using the CDA software was held to dispose of Park Enclave plots. However, accusations of fixed balloting landed city managers in hot water.
