MINGORA: Another person was reported to have dengue fever in Swat, bringing the number of cases to 27 from the district this year. Gohar Ali, a resident of Khwajabad area on the outskirts of Mingora, was shifted to Saidu Teaching Hospital in critical condition on Monday. After initial diagnostic tests, he tested positive for dengue fever and was admitted to the intensive care unit. An official of the Saidu Teaching Hospital said despite persistent fumigation and a campaign against the fever, it was spreading like wildfire in the district. “Although only one patient – a resident of Kalam – succumbed to the virus en route to Peshawar, 25 patients were cured and discharged,” he added.
