PESHAWAR: The proceedings of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Assembly were once again adjourned on Friday due to lack of quorum as only a few legislators showed up to attend the session.

The assembly resumed proceedings with Speaker Kiramatullah Khan in the chair at 10:20am. Member from Kohat Syed Qalbe Hassan pointed out the lack of quorum and the speaker directed the ringing of the bell for two minutes. However, only four members were present in the house. The chair adjourned proceedings for a period of 10 minutes, but on resumption the strength of members rose to only 14, prompting the speaker to adjourn proceedings till Monday.

Meanwhile, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Arshad Abdullah said that legislators had exhibited weakness in meeting the requirement of quorum. However, he said that a meeting would be held with leaders of the parliamentary parties in the house to ensure the attendance of members in future.
