Intercepted: Bid to smuggle heroin foiled

ISLAMABAD:


The anti-narcotics force (ANF) on Saturday foiled an attempt to smuggle 1 kilograms of heroin to a foreign country and arrested suspected drug trafficker at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport.


Sources said that the ANF seized the high quality heroin from a passenger, identified as Shaukat Khan, at the ANF checking counter. The heroin was concealed in secret cavities of Khan’s suitcase. The suspect was intended to fly to Saudi Arabia through a flight (727).  A case has been registered against the suspect and further investigation is under way.
