Three people were killed and 15 others were injured in a road accident near Qadarpur Raan bypass late on Friday. A Rescue 1122 spokesman said a van carrying 18 passengers collided with a tractor at Qadarpur Raan bypass. He said three people died on the spot while 15 others were injured. They were shifted to Nishter Hospital.

He said the driver of the van fled from the scene. Qadarpur Raan Sub Inspector Zafarullah said the deceased had been identified as tractor driver Sajjad Khokhar, 28, a resident of Pattoki, Maqsood Ahmed, 32, a resident of Vehari and Asiya Bibi, a resident of Gujrat. Police said the van had been taken into custody and a team had been formed to investigate the accident.
