MANSEHRA: Ten people were injured when two political groups exchanged fire within the limits of the sessions court in Mansehra on Friday. Police quoted Mansehra District Bar General Secretary Akhtar Nawaz Tanoli as saying tehsil councillor Nadir Khan in Pera union council from PPP and PML-N candidate Syed Munir Shah were disputing a case in court. Shah was the runner-up in the polls; the case was over the issue of rigging during the local government election. “When both groups came to court for the hearing, they exchanged arguments which quickly turned into firing,” he said. Ten people, including the contesting candidates, were injured. Those wounded of one group were referred to Mansehra District Hospital while the injured from the other group were shifted to Ayub Medical Complex to avoid further friction. After the incident, the police cordoned off the area and arrested 12 suspects, seizing weapons from their possession.
