Over three tons of drugs set on fire
Ceremony held to burn 293 tons of heroin, hashish, morphine and opium seized at various instances during the last year

The Anti-Narcotic Force (ANF) destroyed 345.54 tons of narcotics at four different cities including Quetta, Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad to mark the UN International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
The ANF and Frontier Corps Balochistan held a ceremony at Kachmor on the outskirts of Quetta to set to torch 293 tons of drugs including heroin, hashish, morphine and opium seized at various instances during the last year.
Inspector General of FC Maj Gen Sher Afgun and Commander ANF Brigadier Adnan Aziz pressed the button to detonate the pile of narcotics. Billions of dollar worth of drug went simply up in smoke setting bellows of hashish and heroin fumes in the air.
Maj Gen Sher Afgun said that at least 90% of the world’s drugs are being produced in Afghanistan, while nine routes of drugs traffic pass through Balochistan to access the international market.
