Corruption Charges: FIA arrests two SEPCO workers

The accused were produced in the court of the first judicial magistrate and civil judge, Sukkur, on Thursday

SUKKUR: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested two line superintendents of the Sukkur Electric Power Company (Sepco) in separate raids in Daharki and Ubauro district on Wednesday, on charges of corruption. According to the FIA sources, a team of FIA Sukkur, comprising Inspector Niaz Hussain Khajar and sub-inspector Afroz Ahmed Kalwar, took into custody two line superintendents, identified as Mashooq Ali Dayo and Muhammad Malook Jatoi, following the complaints of corruption against them. An amount of Rs40,000 was confiscated from their possession, which they allegedly received as bribe from customers, an FIA official said. The accused were produced in the court of the first judicial magistrate and civil judge, Sukkur, on Thursday. After hearing the case, the judge remanded them into police custody for four days, the official added.
